| another intense day.....
(by the end of the summer i am either going to be dead or extremely fit due to all my 'trainings')
today, from 9-12AM, i was out in random places in kaohsiung, learning how to shoot portraits with a 4.5KG camera.... (D2Xs + 70-200 2.8 VR + 2 SB-800)
also today, from 2:30-5:30PM, i was in tainan, a different city, shooting cosplayers at a local comic convention. this time i reduced the wieght of my camera to about 3.5 KG. (D2Xs + Tamron 28-75 2.8 + 2 SB-800)
one day, lots of great pictures, a dead ricky.......................
(also i somehow scratched my MacBook Pro today ><)
tomorrow i will be shooting some friends from like 12-5PM (maybe even 6...)
to give you some brief history
two weeks ago i was shooting with my D2Xs for the first time in a kaohsiung local comic convention for two days totalling about 15hours. equipment was D2Xs with 70-200 2.8 VR and one SB-800. (approx weight about 3.5KG)
one week ago i upgraded my equipment to D2Xs + 70-200 2.8VR + TWO SB-800 and one SB-600, which totals to about 5kg, and used this 'camera' to shoot in another convention in Taipei (biggest one in taiwan). shooting time estimate is about 17hours in total over the two days.
next weekend i plan to goto Comiket, the biggest comic convention in Japan and in the world............. there i will either find heaven or hell.

| its been two months since D2Xs' news release.
at the moment only one software, Nikon Capture NX, supports D2Xs raw files.
and you know what? Capture NX is optimized for windows......
Apple Aperture, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Lightroom Beta3.... all no support for D2Xs.......

| three single girls and one single guy met up in a random cafe in taipei today...
and found out that it was valentine's day in taiwan...
(atleast i did the last minute, they knew beforehand)

| so this is the first entry after arriving taiwan, because something happened, and the content is good enough such that you wont think it was a waste of five minutes of your life. (or maybe ten.... because my engrish is hard to understand)
basically there was a typhoon, a really massive one.
its really weird, cuz the orientation of this particular typhoon does not actually cover the whole island, splitting the south part into this water hazard zone, and the north into a bright sunny resort.
so wats up!? i live in the south, and its raining mad down here.
the roads are basically now ponds, and cars are getting stuck in these ponds.
to talk about the gusting wind, umbrellas are basically ineffective against it because the wind will either blow the umbrella away or break it, if you try to hold tight to the umbrella you will lose orientation (yes the wind is that strong....)
these winds also ampily the effects of the raindrops, effectively these supposely vertical raindrops are now flying water bullets.
even when i was walking along the sidewalk with roofs that are sticking out about 15m, the rain flew at an angle and basically bombarded me.
some half dozen guys were inside a shop with glass walls, i was on the sidewalk infront of that shop, and basically they just watched me and hope i wont open the door and let the aqua barrage inside.
after that i just decided to give up the umbrella and be one with the wind. (and consequently, became totally wet)
on my way walking back home i heard kids yelling 'oh look hes wet', ironically, the kid soon became wet herself.
i have a crappy photo of me after coming back from the frontline; ill upload it when i get access to a computer that will allow me to read my digital camera files. | | |
